Audiences

I want to see a show, but it’s sold out online. Can I still buy a ticket at the door?

Yes! We always have 10 additional tickets available at the door. You can purchase a ticket at the door 30 minutes before showtime.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and all major cards (including American Express).

Where can I park?

You can park in one of the 4 spots in our parking lot on the north side of our theater. There is also ample street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Where is your theater located?

8312 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA, 98105. The 5 and 45 buses will take you to right to our theater.

Is your venue all ages?

Yes! All shows are all ages unless otherwise listed on the show’s ticketing page.

Where can I sit?

It’s open seating, so sit wherever your heart desires! We recommend the comfy red couch.

Do you have a bar?

Yes! You can sip on beer, wine, La Croix, Capri Sun, soda, and OTTER POPS! Money shouldn’t be a barrier to good times. Our drinks are always Pay What You Want! Surf’s up!

Can I bring my drink into the theater?

Yes! Sip or gulp your drink at your leisure. Cowabunga!

Do you have food?

We don’t, but you’re welcome to eat in our lobby! If you want to eat out, our friends in the neighborhood have the best bites. Craving savory? You’ll love Hummus Cafe’s amazing Mediterranean food or La Conasupo’s killer tacos. Got a sweet tooth? Chocolati Cafe has mouthwatering chocolate.

Is your venue ADA accessible?

Yes! Please view our Accessibility page. Also, service animals are always welcome!

We do!

We do!

Can I hang out in your lobby before the show?

Of course! You’re welcome to play chess, enjoy local artwork and sip on some bevs in our lobby!

How long are shows?

Shows are typically under 1 hour long. However, you’ll occasionally catch a longer show.

Are the performers going to pick on me?

Nope! Performers won't touch or interact with you without your permission.

When do doors open?

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

I want to see a show, but it's out of my price range. Do you offer discounts?

You can catch several Pay What You Want shows. Please check out our Watch page for more information. If cost is prohibitive, please email info@thepocket.org, and we'll work it out!

Can I bring my child?

Please do! If they’re sitting on your lap, don’t worry about buying them a ticket. If you need to move in and out of the theater during the show, that's 100% fine! You're welcome to hang out in the lobby whenever necessary.

I lost an item! Do you have a lost and found box?

We do! Please email info@thepocket.org with a description of your lost item, and we'll do our best to reunite you two!

Can I rent your theater for a private event?

Of course! We rent our theater outside of showtimes. Please email info@thepocket.org for more information. Please note that we receive hundreds of emails each week. As a result, we need 2 weeks notice.

I want to see unlimited shows. Can I become a subscriber?

Yeah, you do! For $25 a month (or more), you can! Please view our Subscribe page to learn more.

Does your theater have a restroom?

It does! You'll have access to one single stall, all-gender, ADA accessible restroom.

Why is there a fee when I purchase my ticket online?

VBO Tickets charges a processing fee for using their service.

How do I get in touch with an artist?

Email info@thepocket.org, and we’ll pass along your information to the artist.

What kind of shows can I watch at the Pocket?

For the most part, you’ll laugh out loud at comedians. You'll also catch up-and-coming and veteran playwrights, musicians, dancers, solo performers and more!

Artists

Do I have to pay to perform?

No! You should never have to pay to perform. Show rentals are always 100% free.

Can I rehearse in your theater or lobby?

Yes! Rates are $15/hour for the theater, $10/hour for the lobby and $20/hour for both. Email info@thepocket.org with your desired dates and times. Please note that we receive hundreds of emails each week. As a result, we need 2 weeks notice.

Can I rent your theater for a private event?

Of course! We rent our theater outside of showtimes. Please email info@thepocket.org for more information. Please note that we receive hundreds of emails each week. As a result, we need 2 weeks notice.

Will you market my show?

We only have 1 full-time staff member and 2 part-time staff members, and our theater hosts more than 40 unique shows each month. We would love to market each show individually, but that's simply not possible due to our small staff size. To set you up for success, you'll get marketing tips and a free ticketing page and Facebook event.

I want to display my artwork in your lobby! How do I do that?

Students

Can I volunteer?

Yes! YAY. Fill out the form on our Volunteer page, and our Volunteer Coordinator Chris will get in touch with you.

I want to take a class or workshop, but it's out of my price range. Do you offer discounts?

You can sign up for several Pay What You Want classes and workshops. Please check out our Learn page for more information. If cost is prohibitive, please email info@thepocket.org, and we'll work it out!

How often do you offer classes and workshops?

We typically offer 2-3 classes and workshops each month.

What is the difference between a class and a workshop?

A class is usually a long-term commitment, and a workshop is usually a short-term commitment.

Can I intern?

Please email info@thepocket.org, and we’ll set up a time for us to meet. Let us know what you're excited about, so we can create an internship that's tailored to you.

Do I need experience?

Not necessarily! There are classes and workshops for all experience levels. Please read the description on the class or workshop ticketing page to see if it's the right fit for you.

What can I learn?

You can learn about improv, sketch and storytelling. Please view our Learn page for a list of current classes and workshops.

What should I wear?

Anything you can move your body in comfortably! Please avoid wearing clothing that displays oppressive content.

Can I show up at a class or workshop if I haven't signed up?

Unless otherwise stated by the teacher, please take a moment to reserve your spot in advance on our Learn page.
